$100,000 in marijuana seized in Dartmouth raid

Dartmouth police narcotics detectives and members of the South Coast Anti-Crime Task Force arrested a New Bedford man and seized more than $100,000 worth of marijuana in a drug raid Thursday, police said.

According to Detective Robert Levinson, Sidney DeSousa, 35, whose last known address was 110 S. Sixth St., Apt. 1, was arrested Thursday afternoon at a rental property at 5 Nonquitt Ave. in South Dartmouth, where a search warrant was executed.

Authorities seized approximately 26 pounds of packaged marijuana, with an estimated street value of more than $100,000 along with 39 vials of suspected human growth hormone, 13 rounds of .38-caliber ammunition and $315 in cash, Levinson said.
