A Welland neighbourhood is reeling today after finding out a sophisticated grow-op was being operated in their area.
Police say suspicious activity was reported at a home on Muirfield Trail last month.
Officers staked out the home Friday, stopped two people who left the house and got a search warrant.
They say they found 725 marijuana plants in the basement, which had been transformed into an organic-style marijuana producing lab.
Police allege hydro and water bypasses had been set up to steal utilities.
Two people in their 50s from Toronto and a 50-year-old woman of no fixed address are charged with drug offences and have been remanded in custody pending bail hearings.
