5 marijuana businesses still open during appeals

The city of Boulder is letting five medical marijuana businesses stay open while they appeal orders that they shut down.

The Daily Camera reports the city sent cease-and-desist letters to the businesses this month after a review of their business license applications allegedly found problems with background checks.

The city is letting the businesses stay open through appeal hearings, which weren’t immediately scheduled.

A sixth medical marijuana business that was ordered to close because of a zoning issue remains shut down because it did not appeal its cease-and-desist order.
