600 pounds of marijuana found in load of tomatoes in Collinsville

 Illinois State Police Troopers found hundreds of pounds of cannabis in a semi-truck Monday.

 
Police pulled over the truck on I-55/70 in Collinsville to conduct a Motor Carrier Safety Inspection.
 
Troopers were given permission to search the truck before they discovered nearly 600 pounds of marijuana hidden within a load of tomatoes, which were headed to Maryland.
 
Warrants were issued Tuesday against Jose Martinez, 25, and Manuel Medrano, 26, for Unlawful Cannabis Trafficking and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver.
 
Bond was set at $150,000. The men are being held at the Madison County Jail.
