Ten people have been arrested across the country today in connection with the Dunedin Mongrel Mob Notorious Gang. All of the 10 men face charges of conspiracy to supply cannabis and possession of cannabis for supply, with one of the men also facing charges of cultivation of cannabis. Additionally, four of the men have been charged with criminal breaches of trust for allegedly taking $20,000 from a charity linked to Government funding. On top of those charges, two of the men are also charged with perverting the course of justice. Dunedin police say they seized around 8kgs of cannabis, with a potential street value of $98,000. “Southern police will continue to keep the pressure on to disrupt and combat the activity of gangs and organised criminals,” says Detective Inspector Steve McGregor. Five of the 10 men are from Dunedin, four are from the West Coast and one is from Western Otago. They will appear in the Dunedin and Greymouth District Courts today.
