Arizona Dept. of Health Receives Over 700 Medical Marijuana Applications

Hundreds of Arizonans have requested medical marijuana cards in the first week since the state began accepting applications.

The Department of Health Services says it’s received 718 applications since April 14.

579 were approved. The others were rejected because they were incomplete.

Patients have to apply online. They’ll need to submit electronic copies of their identification: a current digital photo and their doctor’s certification.

To qualify, patients must have cancer, HIV or AIDS, hepatitis C or other chronic diseases.
