Two masked men robbed a 41st Avenue medical marijuana dispensary at gunpoint on Thursday night, the Sheriff’s Office reported. Two robbers wearing “carnival masks,” one of whom was armed with a handgun, robbed the Herbal Cruz dispensary at 1001 41st Ave. about 8:05 p.m., said sheriff’s Sgt. Roy Morales.
They fled in a silver car with black rims driven by a third man. The car was last seen heading toward Portola Drive, deputies said. No one was injured. Someone called 911 after the robbery. Minutes later, authorities broadcast descriptions of the car and men to other county law enforcement agencies in Project ROPE. The car had a broken headlight and paper license plates, Morales said.
No one had been arrested in the armed robbery as of 9:30 p.m., Morales said. Herbal Cruz also was burglarized in June, according to Sheriff’s Office records. About 4:30 a.m. June 3, several men in masks smashed a glass door and stole more than $6,000 in cannabis and edible marijuana products, deputy April Skalland said at the time. Surveillance cameras recorded the break-in, she said.
