B.C. marijuana moved by bus to Alberta

Police in Abbotsford, B.C. and Calgary say they have busted a drug-smuggling ring that used a commercial bus line to transport B.C.-grown marijuana to the Alberta city.

Abbotsford police on Friday executed a search warrant at a home and found a marijuana grow operation and four pounds of dried pot, Abbotsford police Const. Ian MacDonald said in a news release.

The home is located across the street from an elementary school. A 47-year-old man connected with the home was arrested on charges of production, possession for the purposes of trafficking and trafficking, MacDonald said.

At the same time, police in Calgary searched a home and found marijuana, cannabis resin and psilocybin, a psychedelic drug. Four men were arrested as a result. No names have been released.
