GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A California man was busted by Grand Junction police at the local Greyhound bus stop with over a dozen pounds of marijuana earlier this month. Owen Foster, 54, was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Jail on suspicion of attempting to sell 18.8 lbs of marijuana hidden inside a suitcase and masked with the smell or perfume. It happened on December 16 just after noon during a routine weapon/narcotic check at the depot located on South 5th Street.
The bus had been traveling on a route from Los Angeles, CA, to Chicago, IL. Upon checking numerous bags inside this bus, officers with the Western Slope Drug Task Force came across a suitcase with the name “Paul Ellis” on it. After contacting Foster, the person responsible for the bag, officers opened the suitcase and found a wrapped present inside. Officers asked Foster what it was to which he responded it was a Christmas present before proceeding to tell them marijuana was inside it.
