Cannabis and scales lead to $1,500 fine

A 28-year-old man was fined $1,500 today after he admitted possession of cannabis and a digital scale.
Justin Denbrook, of St George’s, was driving on Sink Road, St George’s on October 13 at 1pm when officers stopped him. The officers informed Denbrook he would be searched.

During the search, officers confiscated a paper twist from Denbrook’s pants. A search of his home was then conducted and officers found digital scales with plantlike residue on them.

The court heard Denbrook has previous convictions for dishonesty and violence and is still on probation.  Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him $1,000 for the cannabis and $500 for the scale.
