Cannabis factory found in Dudley

POLICE found 150 cannabis plants at a makeshift drugs factory in a disused Indian restaurant in Dudley.

Officers made the discovery at around 10.15pm on Thursday September 15 after receiving a tip off from a member of the public.

Dudley Inspector Richard Jones said the empty two-storey property in Wolverhampton Street was “full of cannabis plants and a well equipped hydroponic set up”.

The plants have since been confiscated and an investigation is underway.

Insp Jones added: “Drug cultivation will not be tolerated by West Midlands Police and we would encourage people to contact us if they suspect drug activity is taking place in their area.”
