A STASH of cannabis has been discovered in woodland. A man walking in Aylburton stumbled upon a significant haul of cannabis plants last week. He reported his find, which consisted of 23 root balls and two big bags of leaves and other vegetable matter, at Coleford Police Station and officers seized the items. Officers believe the stash could be worth up to £15,000 and are asking the public for any information about how it got there to get in touch.
Forest Police Superintendent Phil Haynes said: “I’d like to personally thank this man for reporting the matter to us. “He was walking his dog at the time he came across these plants that had been dumped. “We believe whoever did this has done it before as there was evidence of older plants being offloaded nearby as well. “We would urge anyone with information about drugs crime in the community to come forward. “These plants will now be destroyed.” Anyone with information about any of the crimes but who has not spoken to police should call 101, quoting incident 64 of 4.11.11.
