Officers forced entry to the property at around 7.40am on Wednesday, August 31, after receiving information from members of the community.
Once inside police seized 257 cannabis plants, growing equipment, lights and other paraphernalia. Officers also discovered that the electricity in the house had been bypassed.
Sergeant Stuart Snow, said: “I would like to thank the members of the community who came forward with information regarding this property. The information has resulted in us shutting down a local cannabis factory and removing a quantity of drugs from the streets of Portsmouth.
“We need more information in relation to the people using the address. Have you seen anyone going to and coming from the property? Do you know anyone with a connection to the address? I would urge anyone with any information to come forward and speak to us, so that we can find those responsible for this cannabis factory.
“I would encourage members of our communities to continue coming forward with information. All information received is taken very seriously and where possible, is acted upon as soon as possible.”
