Final Fantasy 13-2 Announced

During an event in Japan today, Square Enix dropped a bit of a bombshell by announcing a sequel to Final Fantasy 13. Final Fantasy 13 – 2 will be a direct sequel to Final Fantasy 13 and was announce for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The release date for Final Fantasy 13 – 2 is “Next Winter” in the U.S., and sometime in 2011 in Japan.

Judging from this leaked, in-Japanese trailer, it’s stylistically almost identical to FF 13, and I can only assume/hope the battle system from 13 is carried over as well.
