Grow House Bust worth $500,000 of marijuana seized in Ocala Florida

Drug agents seized $500,000 worth of marijuana and arrested two suspects in a bust in Marion County Wednesday.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team (MADET) and High Intensity Drug Traffic Area (HIDTA) seized the marijuana from a converted barn at 18975 County Road 328 in Dunnellon.

Two suspects were arrested. Edward Stanley Matthews Jr., 40, of Bushnell, was charged with Conspiracy to Trafficking Marijuana and Anthony Frank Rainford, 44, of Dunnellon, was charged with Trafficking Marijuana over 100 Pounds.

Bond for both suspects was set at $50,000.00. Investigators say the barn was equipped with fans, thermometer, light hoods, high intensity light bulbs and several other items used consistent with growing marijuana.

Deputies say one growing room had 210 marijuana plants and a freezer contained 43-gallon sized freezer bags with marijuana in each bag. Drug agents say they seized at least 180 pounds worth of marijuana.
