Head turning decorations at Eureka medical marijuana business

The holiday mural on a downtown Eureka business is turning heads this season.

MC2-Medical Cannabis Consulting & Evaluations on I Street near the courthouse in Eureka is celebrating the holidays with a festive mural depicting a different kind of Christmas tree.

Ditching the classic Douglas fir pine tree, the window painting depicts a marijuana plant decorated with ornaments and presents.

Jeremy Kish, head of security for the cannabis consulting firm, said that the painting has been turning the heads of downtown travelers — with some people pulling their cars over to take pictures.

”We put it up for the holidays to bring some festivities to downtown,” Kish said. “We want to make downtown Eureka more inviting.”

Other than a few dissenters, Kish said most people like the mural and find it humorous.
