Brad Boyd, 19, Mooresville, was preliminarily charged with possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A 17-year-old Indianapolis boy faces preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.
Two officers were on patrol in Pan Am Plaza, 123 W. Louisiana St., about 9 p.m., when they saw Boyd and the boy walking toward them. The plaza is where ESPN is broadcasting from an enclosed booth through Sunday for Super Bowl XLVI.
According to a report by Officer Michael Skeens, Boyd “was smoking a white wrapped tubular object . . . I recognized immediately as a joint.”
“As the two walked past, I then detected a strong odor . . . I knew to be suspected marijuana or hashish,” Skeens wrote.
Police said the juvenile had a joint in a cigarette package, along with a small baggie of suspected marijuana.
