La Joya police seize hundreds of pounds of marijuana Thursday after a chase ends at the river.

When a La Joya police officer tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation, the driver refused to pull over and began heading south toward the river.

The officer gave chase, and that’s when the suspect bailed out of the vehicle, leaving behind 400 pounds of marijuana.
