Man Arrested for Throwing Marijuana at Inmate

Elmira, N.Y. – The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Elmira man Saturday morning after he was caught throwing marijuana and matches over the Chemung County Jail security fence.

19 year old Eddie Coates is charged with first degree attempted promotion of prison contraband and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Coates was released from the Chemung County Jail on Thursday but Sheriff’s officials found Coates Saturday in shrubbery on Lake St.

Officials say he was attempting to throw marijuana and matches over the security fence to an inmate.

Coates was sent to Chemung County Jail.

An investigation is continues and further charges are anticipated Monday morning.

    is this guy for real, what a schmuck… did he think when a prisoner gets close to the fence, guards look away? uhh no duh, not winning…this dude deserves jail time… get this idiot off of our streets…
