Expired license plates nets driver drug charge: A vehicle was stopped for expired license plates on Interstate 480 at 1:42 p.m. Jan. 4.
The driver, a 29-year-old Maple Heights man, was found to have an outstanding warrant from Parma police for failure to appear in court on a previous drug abuse charge.
Following an impound search, a marijuana cigarette was found in a box of cigarettes on the passenger seat, and a bag of suspected marijuana was found in the vehicle’s center console.
The driver was arrested for driving under suspension, expired license plates and marijuana possession and taken to the Solon jail.
He was given a court date of Jan. 8 at Stow Municipal Court.
The vehicle was impounded by Twinsburg Police.
