Man sought for questioning in slaying of marijuana distributor

Long Beach police released surveillance video images Tuesday of a man detectives want to interview in connection with the March slaying of a marijuana dispensary distributor.  Police are hoping the public will help identify the man, who is seen making a purchase at a Beverly Hills convenience store, said Long Beach police spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.  The man in the surveillance video stopped at the convenience store March 24, the day Philip Victor Williamson, 29, was found shot in an alley in the 1500 block of Pine Avenue in Long Beach.

The receipt for that day’s purchase was later found inside Williamson’s residence, police said.  Williamson, who was from Los Angeles, distributed marijuana grown in Northern California to dispensaries in the Los Angeles area. Police also have released a stock photo of a 2002 black Toyota 4Runner, the type of vehicle he was seen driving when he left the convenience store.
