Marijuana Grow Houses Found Near Schools

More than a $1 million worth of marijuana was found in two homes just miles from schools, churches and a popular mall.

Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies said they found more than 100 marijuana plants inside homes on Red Berry Court and North Wavy Oak Circle in The Woodlands.

Investigators said they also found bales of pot stuffed inside garbage bags.

The homes were not furnished to live in, officials said.

The same group of men were responsible for the operations at the homes, detectives said.

There are two schools and four churches near the homes, and The Woodlands Mall isn’t far away.

The news had one mother terrified, and she said she has decided to move.

“I’m shocked, especially next to their schools,” Caroline Ceconi said. “Their school is an eighth of a mile away, and there are two marijuana houses? That’s crazy.”

Detectives said one person has been taken into custody, and more arrests are expected.
