The officer found a small amount of marijuana on the passenger in the car, and later found two pounds of the drug in the car, police said. The driver, Fabio J. Ramos, 26, and the passenger Ricardo A. Dacosta, 29, were charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 100 feet of a park, police said. Ramos also had $1,684 in cash, and police charged him with property derived from criminal activity, said Detective Sgt. Mark Gillies. Dacosta also was charged with failure to surrender drugs to police, after he was accused of not telling authorities about marijuana in the trunk, Gillies said. The men, both from Newark, were being held in Bergen County Jail on $10,000 bail.
