Eddie Joe Torres faces multiple charges, including cruelty to a child, sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.
Deputies went Thursday to the school, where the child reportedly shared the tainted Rice Krispies treats with classmates.
Stuart said four students, including Torres’ child, consumed the treats between class periods. Two reported getting dizzy and having dry mouths afterward, she said.
Drug agents went to Torres’ home and seized five to seven pounds of processed marijuana along with more drug-laced treats, Stuart said. The child was turned over to protective services.
Torres has previously been convicted on charges of transporting methamphetamine, Stuart said.
