THREE drug dealers are behind bars today after hundreds of bags of cannabis were found in a string of police raids on a Middlesbrough house. Police went to a home on Errol Street after a report that there might have been a weapon there – and found a drug den instead. A smell of cannabis led to the discovery of 174g of the drug, said prosecutor Sue Jacobs. Officers also found £660 cash from dealing. The two occupants, Omed Abdullah and Jaber Mohammed, were arrested. The next day the home was raided again. A carrier bag contained 194.5g of cannabis divided into 250 bags of £5 deals ready for sale. There was another 19.9g in the kitchen.
Finally on August 4, police went to arrest Mohammed again for an unrelated matter. Officers found a bucket containing another 22 bags of skunk cannabis, a total of 16.1g. The drugs in the three raids were worth more than £1,700. Mohammed, 30, now of Angle Street, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough; Abdullah, 26, now of Victoria Road, Middlesbrough; and Saman Mohamedi, 21, of Cromwell Avenue, Stockton, all admitted possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply. Mohamedi was the only one with a previous drugs conviction. Judge Howard Crowson said it was a commercial operation for greed and gain. He jailed Mohammed for 16 months, Abdullah 14 months and Mohamedi six months.
