A photograph of what appeared to be her smoking a suspicious hand-rolled cigarette was uploaded on Instagram back in February. And on Saturday, the star sparked concerns once again when she was pictured enjoying what appeared to be the same on her hotel balcony.
The 20-year-old singer was seen inhaling and puffing smoke into the air as she sat outside at her accommodation in Miami, Florida with the brown paper coated item.

Miley chatted to friends as they relaxed on a veranda, looking as though she had just woken up as she donned only a black T-shirt with gold writing across.

The star, who had tied her short pixie blonde hair up on top of her head, squinted her eyes as she took a deep drag of the cigarette with her left hand, which was missing the engagement ring given to her by fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Afterwards she laughed to herself as she peered down at the action below her.

Later on she covered up her messy locks with a black beanie hat and covered her eyes with huge dark sunglasses. Again a suspicious object was seen between her forefinger and thumb as she inhaled and exhaled the smoke. Miley and Snoop Lion released their new collaborative track Ashtrays And Heartbreaks on Wednesday. And while its title may sound like Miley is about to reveal the truth behind her rumoured relationship split, the former Disney star instead reflects on friends who have passed in a reggae – and drug reference infused – melody. The collaboration, which will feature on Snoop’s new album Reincarnated, is the first of many expected from the former squeaky clean star as she prepares to release her new album.

The reggae track is kicked off by Snoop who raps: ‘Tonight there’s gonna be a whole lot of smoke in the air, blow it high for the ones who ain’t here.’ Miley provides the song’s hook alluding to the fact the smoke is not coming from normal cigarettes, but the 20-year-old is careful not to specifically mention marijuana. ‘Now my buzz is gone, and I need to re-up on reality,’ Miley sings in the hook.

But the actress denied posting the controversial black and white photo which appeared many weeks ago, writing simply on Twitter: ‘I don’t have an Instagram.’ Earlier on Miley had appeared to respond to the picture going viral when she tweeted: ‘Why is everybody trippin. My timeline is blowing up. Everything’s all good in my life just in a creative space right now.’ The account, which calls itself MileyxxCyrus, shared the photo along with the caption ‘High as f***’.

Back in 2010, a video was leaked in which Miley was seen inhaling from a bong at her 18th birthday party. A representative for the former Hannah Montana star later claimed that she was smoking the herb salvia. The star told Marie Claire magazine shortly afterwards: ‘I’m not perfect… I made a mistake… I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans.’
But at her 19th birthday party later that year she poked fun at the scandal when her friends presented her with a Bob Marley cake. ‘You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake,’ the former Disney starlet said in video obtained by The Daily. ‘You know you smoke way too much f***ing weed!’
