More marijuana seized, Branchville duo held

BRANCHVILLE – Orangeburg County officials say two people have been arrested and $164,000 in marijuana plants seized during marijuana eradication efforts.  Sophia Koger, 46, and Roosevelt Mack, 43, both of 112 Lincoln St., Branchville, were arrested Thursday after marijuana plants valued at $32,000 were found behind their residence, Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said.  Both were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Both went before an Orangeburg County magistrate where they were given a personal recognizance bond.  In other multi-agency efforts in Orangeburg County during the week:  n $14,000 in marijuana plants were located and seized in a wooded area at Cannon Bridge Road and Hudson Road.  n $118,000 worth of marijuana plants were seized in two separate operations in Cope.

“Our resolve is unwavering in locating and removing narcotics before they reach the streets of this county,” Ravenell said.

    The story a few days ago about the Calhoun County SC Sheriff finding 1,271 plants near a campground happened in my county. Eeek, giggers…the cops.
