GARDAI have seized cannabis worth over €900,000 in raids in Wexford and Galway over the weekend, writes Caroline Crawford. A total of nine people were arrested as part of the raids which were carried out in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, and Tuam and Oughterard in Co Galway. Officers in Wexford arrested two men and a woman in a house in Glenbrien, Enniscorthy, on Saturday afternoon. Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €164,000 were seized. The three, aged in their 40s and 20s, are currently being held under Section Two of The Criminal Justice Act 1996 at Enniscorthy garda station. Meanwhile, in Co Galway, gardai are continuing to question six Vietnamese people after seizing €750,000 worth of cannabis during a raid of three grow houses in the county.
