Ohio is one of 15 states attempting to legalize medical marijuana, but each for their own reasons. According to ProCon.org, the other 14 states trying to pass laws to legalize medical marijuana are Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
ProCon.org lists a summary of each state’s ballots and bills, explaining why they want to legalize the drug. It also includes the latest actions made and how much further the state has to go to pass their ballots/bills.
For example, Ohio’s House Bill 153 would legalize medical marijuana for a registered patient or visiting qualifying patient engaging in the medical use of cannabis. Rep. Robert Hagan (D) introduced the bill in 2013.
