The drug agency spokeswoman Emily Fama said those uprooted consisted of 120,000 marijuana seedlings and 124,000 fully-grown plants with a total street value of P14.44 million based on the standard set by the Dangerous Drug Board (DDB).
She said the marijuana plants were discovered in two separate plantations with a total land area of 6,000 square meters.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led the operation with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
The operating troops also arrested one of the suspected cultivators of the marijuana plantation, identified as Alfredo Acdang, a resident of Barangay Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet.
Acdan was arrested right at the plantation site while his brother, Alan Acdang, was able to escape and is now the subject of a manhunt.
Fama siad the troops also seized one hydraulic jack, a marijuana brick molder used in making marijuana bricks, a weighing scale and 1.75-kilo of dried marijuana leaves estimated at P43,750.
Most of the uprooted marijuana plants were burned near the plantation sites in the presence of some local officials.
Fama said the arrested suspected cultivator is now under the custody of PDEA while appropriate charges are being prepared against him.
