Police find cannabis plants in Artarmon

NORTH Shore police found 10 cannabis plants growing in bushland near the Gore Hill Freeway at Artarmon last Thursday. Acting on a tip-off from the public, officers from the North Shore Pro-Active Team made the discovery at 3.30pm. North Shore crime prevention officer Matt Jewell said police found a small patch of plants of varying maturity, growing in black plastic pots at the end of Milner Rd, Artarmon. “Police removed the plants and took them to Chatswood police station for destruction,” Senior Constable Jewell said.

In a separate incident in June, Ku-ring-gai police raided a house on Auluba Rd and discovered a sophisticated hydroponic cannabis set-up and hundreds of cannabis plants being grown in several rooms. Police said the plants, with an estimated street value of more than $500,000, have since been destroyed. To report a crime, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
