A Fredericksburg woman said she called the police on her roommates over alleged marijuana smoking in an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Caroline Street. City police responded to an apartment complex therein yesterday around 10 a.m., Police arrested Kyle Talley, 23, of Fredericksburg for simple possession of marijuana.
Deborah Mitchell, 32, said she warned her two roommates that she wanted them to stop smoking and dealing marijuana because it stunk up the apartment and she was worried about the couple’s 22-month-old toddler. She said she has been arguing with the couple lately and when she came home this morning, the odor of marijuana was so strong that she dialed 911 to report them to the police.
“The whole house smelled like reefer,” Mitchell said outside the blue apartment complex while at least three police officers were inside talking to the suspects. “There are so many people coming in and out of the house all of the time. It’s inappropriate.”
Child Protective Services was also called to the scene to check on the welfare of the toddler, said Fredericksburg Police Public Information Officer Natatia Bledsoe. The child remains with its parents, however an appointment was set up with city social services to review resources available to the family.
