Sheriff’s office conducts weekend raid in Toulon

On Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 10:34 a.m. a Search Warrant was executed on the 300 block of N. Fuller Street in Toulon, Illinois. The Stark County Sheriff’s Office along with the Illinois State Police, District 7 Canine Unit arrested Charles D. Slightom Jr., 28, of Toulon for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Obstructing Justice and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
According to documents filed with the Tenth Judical Circuit Court, on August 5th at approximately 1:03 p.m., Deputy Michael Leighton met with Judge Kevin Galley who signed a search warrant for 311 N. Fuller St. in Toulon, IL.
During the search on August 7th, Leighton and other deputies located approxiamtely 240 grams of suspected cannabis, several pills, and drug paraphernalia throughout the residence.
Furthermore, during the initial entry, Charles Slightom Jr. attempted to destroy evidence of cannabis subsequent to the search.
Slightom was charged Monday with Unlawful Possession of Canabis (Class 4 felony), Unlawful Possession of Canabis with Intent to Deliver (Class 3 felony), Attempt [Obstructing Justice] (Class A misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (for less than 15 grams of vicodin, Class 4 felony), and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).
Slightom is in the custody of the Stark County Sheriff’s Office with a bond of $50,000 with 10% to apply. He will be in court on Friday morning at 9 a.m.
