According to an incident report, Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday to an address on Front Beach Road. The found the 14-year-old unable to answer questions or stand without assistance. EMS arrived and transported the girl to Bay Medical Center.
The girl’s brother said he and his sister and two other friends were smoking Purple Haze, an herbal incense commonly known as synthetic marijuana. He said they purchased the substance from a store on Front Beach Road and were passing around a joint. When the 14-year-old smoked it she “just started freaking out,” so he called for assistance.
A federal ban was recently placed on the substance and BCSO is investigating the incident. No charges have been filed at this time.
