The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) yesterday destroyed, by burning, a quantity of cocaine and cannabis that had been confiscated at different intervals during this year. According to CANU Head, James Singh, to date, 115 kilogrammes of cocaine have been seized for the year, while CANU has also assisted in the seizure of almost twice that amount internationally. The amount of cocaine destroyed yesterday was 30 kgs. The cannabis amounted to 105 kgs. The CANU head also revealed that the majority of the narcotics seized came by river.
