Three North Seattle marijuana dispensaries were burglarized earlier this week, and Seattle police are looking for suspects. However, it’s not clear if the suspects took any pot during the break-ins.
“Bales of weed are a bit harder to inventory than TVs, computers, and other things with serial numbers,” department spokesman Jonah Spagenthal-Lee said in a statement.
The first attempted dispensary burglary was reported shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday
“A witness called 911 after he spotted two men – holding what looked like crowbars – standing at the back door of a pot shop on Northeast 143rd and Greenwood Avenue,” department spokesman Jonah Spagenthal-Lee said in a statement. “When officers arrived, the suspects were gone and the business hadn’t been broken into. However, officers found pry marks around the dispensary’s back door.”
About 11:30 p.m. that evening, burglars broke into another dispensary at Northeast 123rd Street and 15th Avenue Northeast, where they cracked open a display case containing pot cookies and a computer, police said.
“Finally, at about 6 p.m. Monday, burglars smashed open the door of yet another dispensary at Northwest 77th and 15th Avenue Northwest, tried to steal a TV and an Xbox, but left with a computer monitor instead,” Spagenthal-Lee said.
Police said they’re investigating a possible connection in at least two of the cases.
