Township police responding to a burglar alarm at a Fuller Court home Thursday said they found a crop of marijuana plants growing in the backyard.
Police charged residents Bryan Fletcher and Jeannine Spinella-Baron, both 46, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Fletcher gave officers permission to search the residence after officers spotted 29 contraband plants during a routine check of the property. Police had responded to the alarm about 10:38 p.m., the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement Friday.
Police said they found a marijuana smoking pipe in a bedroom dresser and caught Spinella-Baron trying to hide a plastic bag of marijuana.
