In addition to yesterday’s announcement of the potential development of a marijuana pizza, Unique Pizza and Subs Corporation stated today it is creating a marijuana pizza sauce to be sold in states where edible cannabis products have been legalized. The company is currently working with marijuana infusion chefs in Colorado on a unique line of cannabis-infused sauces building on Unique Pizza’s award winning base recipes,” the company said in a release. Unique Pizza’s sauce recipe will be shared with licensed marijuana product manufacturers.
The company is also exploring the possibility of a frozen marijuana pizza. Unique Pizza and Subs Corporation announced today that it is considering developing marijuana pizza with the assistance of India-based pharmaceautical manufacturer Dr. Reddy. The Pittsburgh-based company said the product could be sold at adult bars and clubs in Colorado.
“We started our discussions about the possibility of developing a line of marijuana pizzas back in April of this year,” said James Vowler, Unique Pizza and Subs President and CEO, in the press release. “Since then our casual discussions have led us to beginning the necessary steps to start developing prototypes of a Unique cannabis gourmet pizza. As mentioned in previous releases we are developing a frozen (non-marijuana) pizza that we expect to have in production by the end of this year and believe we can also explore the development of a marijuana pizza in that same timeframe. One of our largest shareholders has expressed a strong interest in owning the rights to distribute a Unique Marijuana Pizza throughout his home country of Canada and we will be working closely with him and his company on this project.”
