Warsaw man arrested for trying to buy 14 pounds of pot via mail

A Warsaw man is facing charges after police say he tried to buy 14 pounds of marijuana through the mail.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says local authorities were contacted by the Postal Service after dogs detected a package that could contain illegal drugs in both Texas and Indiana.

Thursday afternoon, Sheriff’s Deputies and members of the Drug Task Force joined Postal Service Inspectors in delivering the package to a home in the Whispering Pines Trailer Court.

After the delivery, authorities say 22-year-old Johnathan Mallery identified himself as the recipient of the package and was taken into custody.

Mallery was arrested for dealing marijuana. He was scheduled to appear in a Kosciusko County on Friday.
