A Kansas City woman remained in jail Sunday in Marshall, Mo., after her cash bond was set at $100,000 following her arrest when police said they found more than 100 pounds of marijuana in the car she was driving. The Saline County Sheriff’s identified her as Lidia Rivas. The Missouri State Highway Patrol had said it confiscated more than 100 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop near the Lafayette and Saline county lines on Interstate 70 shortly before 3 p.m. Friday.
The patrol said in a news release Saturday that during the stop troopers found about 109 pounds of marijuana in the car’s rear quarter panels. The highway patrol news release said a 38-year-old woman from Kansas City who was driving the vehicle was arrested and taken into custody. The Saline County Sheriff’s office could not confirm her age or address on Sunday.
